Features:

Anomaly Alerts: Explained With AI in Notifications

Cloudchipr now includes a brief, AI-generated explanation directly within Slack and Email messages for anomaly alerts.

This addition makes each alert easier to interpret at a glance, helping users quickly understand the nature of anomalies without needing to open additional views.

Billing Explorer: Custom X-Axis Granularity in Charts and Tables

Cloudchipr now supports custom X-axis granularity, giving users greater control over how data is grouped and visualized.

In Billing Explorer, a new X-Axis dropdown has been added to the chart header. By default, it shows data over time (Date), but users can now switch to other dimensions such as Account, Service, and more. When a non-date dimension is selected:

  • The table view switches to a Granular format, displaying the selected grouping as columns.

These updates offer deeper flexibility for analyzing data across multiple dimensions, enhancing both chart and table views across the platform.

Budgets: Planned Budgeting Method

Cloudchipr now supports a Planned budgeting method, allowing users to define different budget amounts for each month or quarter instead of using a static value.

When creating or editing a budget, users can now choose between:

  • Fixed (default): The same amount applies to each budget period.
  • Planned: Set different amounts for each month or quarter.

The Planned option is available only for Monthly or Quarterly budgets. When selected, users can enter unique values for each period - for example, allocating $100 in the first month, $110 in the second, and so on.

This update gives teams more flexibility to model real-world budget scenarios that evolve over time.

Automation: Separate Workflows for Action and Notification

Cloudchipr has redesigned the Workflow creation flow to clearly distinguish between Take Action and Notify Only workflows, improving clarity and usability.

Key improvements include:

  • Predefined Workflow Type: Users now choose the workflow type (Take Action or Notify Only) before starting the setup process, removing confusion during service selection.
  • Read/Write Enforcement: Take Action workflows now prevent selection of resources from Read-Only accounts.
  • Expanded Filter Preview: Users can now expand the filter section to preview applied filters without opening the modal.
  • Environment Warnings Moved: Warnings related to production accounts are now shown in the Select Environment step.

This update simplifies automation setup by aligning workflow logic with user expectations and making resource permissions more transparent.

Budgets: Custom Range Budget Periods

Cloudchipr now supports a Custom Range option for budget periods, allowing users to define non-recurring budgets with a specific start and end date — or leave the end date open-ended.

This enhancement is ideal for cases where fixed periods like monthly or annual don’t align with budget planning, such as tracking spend over the next 90 days.

Key capabilities include:

  • Set start and optional end dates for each budget.
  • Option to create open-ended budgets by disabling the end date.
  • Support for past dates as the budget start.
  • Once the end date passes, the budget automatically expires and is no longer shown in Billing Explorer.

This gives users greater flexibility to align budgets with real-world timelines and spending plans.

These updates reflect our ongoing commitment to building a better platform — many of the improvements in this release were shaped directly by customer feedback. Thank you for helping us make Cloudchipr more powerful, flexible, and intuitive with every iteration.
