In this release, Cloudchipr introduces 6 new features to deepen visibility, enhance usability, and support more informed decision-making across cloud and Kubernetes environments. The key updates include:

  1. Cumulative Cost Line in Billing Explorer – Track how your spend progresses over time.
  2. Unified Resource Drawer in Billing Explorer – Access structured insights across all resources.
  3. Kubernetes Drawers – Dive deeper into nodes, pods, and controllers with organized side panels.
  4. Live Usage Drawer – View real-time usage data alongside billing details in one place.
  5. Kubernetes Filters – Apply filters across all Kubernetes resources from a unified panel.
  6. Forecast Settings in Billing Explorer – Visualize projected spend directly within your charts.

Features:

Billing Explorer: Cumulative Cost Line

A new Cumulative Line has been introduced in the Billing Explorer chart to help you visualize how your actual spend is progressing over time.

  • Easily compare cumulative spend against your set budget.
  • Improve forecasting accuracy and support timely FinOps decisions.

This update makes it easier to track how costs accumulate over time—supporting trend analysis, budget monitoring, and proactive cost control.

Billing Explorer: Unified Resource Drawer

A new general drawer is now available for all resources in Resource Explorer—supported and unsupported.

It displays key information like Account, Region, and Service, along with:

  • General tab for resource details and tags

This drawer standardizes resource insights and simplifies cost analysis across the board.

Kubernetes: Resource Drawers Across Views

We’ve added clickable drawers to Kubernetes views for easier deep dives into Nodes, Namespaces, Pods, and Controllers.

  • Access structured details with a clean drawer layout
  • View key info like headers, tags, labels, and associated pods
  • Switch between General, Workload, and Chart tabs where applicable (e.g., Reserved, Utilization)

This update provides a consistent, organized way to explore Kubernetes objects—enabling quicker insights and better operational visibility.

Live Usage: Enhanced Resource Drawer

We’ve updated the resource drawer in the Live Usage & Management section for supported resources.

  • Now displays live usage metrics alongside billing (CUR) data under the Details section
  • Prepares the structure for an upcoming Opportunities tab (coming soon)

This enhancement lays the groundwork for deeper real-time visibility, combining operational and cost data in one place.

Kubernetes: Unified Filtering Experience

Kubernetes pages now support an improved filtering interface, aligned with the design used in Live Resources.

  • A centralized All Resources filter section applies across all resource types
  • Resource-specific filters are grouped and accessible in a single view
  • When navigating to a specific resource type, the filter panel auto-scrolls to the relevant section

This update streamlines how you explore and refine Kubernetes data—making it faster to locate exactly what you need.

Billing Explorer: Forecast Display Option

We’ve introduced a new Forecast toggle in the Billing Explorer chart settings to help anticipate end-of-period spending.

  • Enable Display Forecast for MTD or QTD views
  • Visualize a forecasted cost trend line alongside your actuals
  • Hover to view forecasted values and see the updated legend

This enhancement supports better planning and helps teams stay ahead of potential budget overruns.

Beyond these features, we’ve made multiple refinements based on customer feedback to improve performance, usability, and consistency throughout the platform.
